I had the opportunity to join a Zoom call with the wonderful ladies of Shakti Mama , and I left feeling more informed, empowered, and at peace about my birth journey.
They created such a warm, welcoming, and judgment free space where I felt truly heard. One of the biggest takeaways for me was learning that it's completely okay to have a birth plan and to stand firm in my choices. They reminded me that my voice matters and encouraged me to have someone with me who knows my birth plan well enough to advocate for me if I'm unable to speak for myself during labor.
I also loved how they emphasized creating a calm and comforting birth environment by bringing things like soothing music, candles (where permitted), natural oils, and other personal touches that help you feel safe and relaxed. Their approach to honoring womb wisdom, natural birth, and trusting your intuition was incredibly refreshing.
